Whats New at Bitterroot Early Learning Center

All young children need and deserve high-quality early learning experiences that will prepare them for life, and we hope to do our part and give Ravalli County families positive experiences in Early Childhood Education.  It is our responsibility to recognize the importance of early learning for all young children.
Young children and their families depend on high-quality education and care, which help children get a great start, and bring lasting benefits to Ravalli County and Montana.  Montanans can help young children get a great start by supporting early learning and early literacy, and by celebrating teachers and the policies that bring early childhood education to young children.  Also, by supporting those who work together to improve professional practice and working conditions in early childhood education, and to build public support for high-quality early childhood education programs.

Bitterroot Early Learning Center has been a licensed childcare/ early learning center since September 2005, and in that time we have enrolled and served many families from all over the Bitterroot Valley.  Bitterroot Early Learning Center offers families the opportunity to have a hands on approach to their child’s education.  At Bitterroot Early Learning Center we focus on an active learning environment where children can learn through their experiences and discoveries during play.  We believe it is important for adults to establish a supportive climate where children can have positive interactions with adults and children alike.  Our daily routine supports child initiative, social experiences, flexible structure, curriculum, individual, large and small group experiences and interactions.  Our curriculum covers all learning domains including creative representation, language and literacy, initiative and social relations, music and movement, & math and science.  Teachers conduct formal assessments to determine each child’s developmental level.  Teachers, then, meet with parents and make learning goals for each child.  These goals are included in weekly lesson plans. We offer multi-age programs including an infant program, toddler program, preschool program and an after school program.
